To Pavel Stanék (*1927), that prolific composer, inspirations coming from the folklore of his native country are of great importance in his musical output. One therefore may refer to “Gloria sancti” as a piece that is also firmly rooted in the tradition of Stanék’s home in the evenness of its texture, its clarity and orchestral colors. This assessment holds true here, although the composer adapted the message of his work to a new and more popular musical feeling.
The catchy melody of "Gloria Sancti" is introduced by the solo trumpet. During the whole piece this melody wanders through the sections, always accompanied by different secundary melodies. It gains sonority and ends in a ceremonial final chord.
