Banda (Orchestra di fiati)
Info
The modern wind band ceased to be the exclusive realm of men already years ago. The contrary holds true in reality: today women play all instruments imaginable – and without them most bands would have to give up. Consequently, why should there not be kind of a musical homage for the women in the band? Should it be for the flutist? The euphonium player or the girl in the percussion section who always is in good mood? In any case, here it is, that special dedicatory piece called “Catrina Samba”.
It was on purpose that Luigi di Ghisallo, renowned composer of Latin-American rhythms, selected the samba for it, the Brazilian national dance, the spirit of which is well capable of setting an entire nation into dance ecstasies.
