Music ceased to be the exclusive realm of men already years ago. The contrary holds true in reality: today women play all instruments imaginable – and without them most orchestras and ensembles would have to give up. Consequently, why should there not be kind of a musical homage for the women in music? And here it is, that special dedicatory piece called “Catrina Samba”. It was on purpose that Luigi di Ghisallo, renowned composer of Latin-American rhythms, selected the samba for it, the Brazilian national dance, the spirit of which is well capable of setting an entire nation into dance ecstasies.
The accordion orchestra version of this piece is combinable with the concert band version!
