Farmer's Tuba - Farmers Tuba
Info
Notes available at: https://www.rundel.de/en/
Funky Solo for Tuba and Band "Farmer's Tuba" was written for tuba player Josef Hofer, in 2012. Austrian Composer Martin Scharnagl truly wished to "tailor" this solo to his friend and bandmate of the ensemble VIERA BLECH.The result is a driving piece in funk-style that demands a lot from the soloist, both rhythmically and technically.
Over time, "Farmer's Tuba" developed into a trademark piece for Josef Hofer at VIERA BLECH’s concerts and its many admirers caused the desire for an edition for solo tuba and wind band.
With the present edition, Martin Scharnagl enriches the tuba repertoire with a little masterpiece, which will not only delight all brass players, but also the drummer!
Incidentally, the title is no coincidence: Josef Hofer, for his part, is not just a musician and music educator, but the owner of a farm in the Austrian village of Oberndorf near Kitzbuehel (Tyrol).
