(Saxophone Quintet - SAATB)
The Rondo "Alla turca" - also known as the "Turkish March" - is considered one of the most popular classical compositions for piano. The Piano Sonata in A major (KV 331), in which the "Turkish March" is the third setting (Allegretto), was composed in 1783/84 and became one of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s most famous piano sonatas.
The German composer and arranger Albert Loritz created a skilful arrangement for saxophone quintet, in which he remained close to the original, but – due to his own many years of experience as a clarinettist and saxophonist - was always inspired by the technical possibilities and tonal nuances of the saxophone family.
