This excellent concert march was commissioned by the Royal Fanfare Band „Tenierskring“ (“Teniers circle”) of Perk, a small village near Brussels, Belgium, on the occasion of its 100th anniversary (1901-2001). The subtile refers to the artist David Teniers (1610-1690), who had a summer home in Perk. His motto was Sine Labore Nihil! (Without work nothing is achieved!). This thought must have been at the back of André Waignein’s mind while he composed Euro Celebration: within Europe, the coinage of the beginning of the 21st century was the euro. The countries involved put a lot of energy in this currency; for its implementation, commitment, and a solid cooperation were of great importance.
