Troják is a Walachian dance (Walachia is a part of Northern Moravia). It alternates between two-four time and three-four time and an practical joke the musicians play on the dancers.
Boris Hajdušek's "Troják" is of virtuosic character, not citing any traditional melody but still sounding like a typical Walachian "Troják" folk dance. Pavel Stanék masterly arranged this composition for the requirements of the modern concert band.
