A Tribute to J.P. Sousa U.S.A. – the United States of America are often simply called the U.S. The outcome of this short form was the nickname “Uncle Sam”.
UNCLE SAM ON PARADE was written in the style of the famous composer John Philip Sousa and the great American military parades. Those parades are real spectacles. With six trombones in front, drum band and showgirls they are marching down the avenue in six-eight time. The marches of John Philip Sousa are famous all over the world, for example “Stars and Stripes forever” and “The Washington Post”.
By the way: There is a myth that the name SOUSA is a pseudonym. And if you take a close look, then the last three letters should catch your eye: USA…!
