Morning Impressions
I wrote the composition “Present” in the early morning of a cold and sunny day. The view through the window of my home office on the unspoilt countryside, seeming to be still asleep, inspired this little piece. It was the moment of here and now which gave me great joy; that moment which I wished to enjoy and capture in music. On one hand you have the word “present” in its temporal meaning of “right now”, on the other hand it is also a word for “gift”. The actual moment, here and now, today – this is what we receive as a present and what makes us think about the wonderful gift of life…
