In the series Neue Geistliche Lieder for wind band, the music publisher RUNDEL publishes modern hymns for Catholic, Protestant and ecumenical occasions. The young and fresh musical approach to faith expressed in these songs reflects the growing coexistence of the two great Christian churches. The wind orchestra plays a major role in the congregation's annual cycle and can now also help shape the modern praise musically with these New Spiritual Songs.
The titles of this series have been deliberately selected and arranged in such a way that they can be performed purely instrumentally with a wind orchestra or additionally with vocals (unison choir). For the Christian-ecologically inspired composer and arranger Kurt Gäble, it was a matter of personal concern to publish popular new spiritual songs also as carefully elaborated sheet music for wind orchestra and choir. In his compositions and arrangements, he often combines deep Christian faith with his love of music.
