The eXplora composition AFRICAN MEMORIES takes us on a musical dream trip to a country with magnificent vegetation, picturesque scenery and a rich wildlife. A holiday trip inspired the composer Florian Ziller to his work, that is well suited for younger musicians through the deliberate instrumentation.
By using an optional African djembe (alternatively Congas or Bongos) that supports the percussion part, the music gets its special color. Based on traditional African drum rhythms, the composer has opted for an easily understandable, consistent pattern here. This offers the opportunity to perform the piece effectively, for example, with a larger drum group.
