Alfred Reed wrote this piece for the Regina Lions Club Junior Band from Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, and premiered at the Midwest Conference.
The piece was concieved to open a festival or any other festive occasion. It ist devided into three parts.
The first and the third part consists of fanfares in the brass section and a lyrical melody by the woodwinds.
As a contrast in the second part we hear a flowing melody with scottish influence which is mainly playd bei woodwinds an saxophones.
It is an outstanding work and a must for young bands looking for significant literature.
