Westminster Abbey is a world-famous historical monument. It is the tallest Gothic building in the British Isles and reflects the unimaginable greatness of God by its soaring architecture. The special significance of the Abbey is rooted, however, in a unique combination: it is a living church that enshrines the history of the British nation.
On the basis of the “Easter Hymn” of an unknown composer that goes back to the year 1748, the composer Alfred Bösendorfer wrote a great hymn for symphonic wind orchestra. Relying on the means of expression of a modern wind band, it captures the special nature of Westminster Abbey in an enthralling manner.
