Vladimir Studnicka is known as music director, composer, arranger und teacher. He studied at the Advanced School of Music Education and the Ostrava conservatory (composition, conducting and guitar). He got aquinted with writing for concert band while working with military bands in Mariánské Lázne. In 1961, Studnicka became a teacher at the People's School of Music in Ostrava-Mariánské Hory. His co-operation with the Ostrava Radio dates from 1973, after achieving a success with the "Dance for Symphonic Orchestra". In 1975 he started working there as a music director. As an arranger and composer, he nowadays works in co-operation with various ensembles and music publishers both in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The Flemish composer and conductor Orlando di Lasso (1532-1594) was working in Italy, England and the Netherlands. From 1556 on, he worked as the conductor of the Bavarian court orchestra in Munich. He mastered all the compositional techniques of his time and is considered the most important composer of the late Renaissance. His complete works amount to over 2000 vocal and instrumental compositions, including masses, passions, madrigals and chansons/songs. Orlando di Lasso originally composed TIBI SOLI PECCAVI (“You have sinned”) for mixed choir. The Czech composer and arranger Vladimír Studnická has created a version of the song for large wind orchestra. The result is a pedagogical work that is excellent for warming up and tuning.
