Veit Erdmann-Abele was born on April 16, 1944 in Reutlingen. He studied at the Universities of Tübingen and Stuttgart and at the Musikhochschule in Stuttgart. His teachers include Henk Badings, Paul Buck, Erhard Karkoschka and Karl Michael Komma. In addition to freelance, pedagogical work at the music school in Reutlingen, he worked from 1974 to 2002 as a music editor at Süddeutscher Rundfunk Stuttgart, now SWR. In addition, from 1989 to 2004 he was director of the municipal concert series "Musica-Nova" in Reutlingen.
