Thijs Oud | Composers

Thijs Oud was born in Joure in 1967. At the age of 10 he played trumpet in the local wind band. After two years of studying at the Groningen Conservatory, he switched from trumpet to trombone. Accompanied by his teacher P. Bakker, he graduated as a music teacher with a focus on tenor horn / euphomium within five years. At the same time he trained as a wind and brass band conductor. As a freelance trombonist, This Oud played with the “Royal Dutch Airforce”, the “Johan Willem Friso Kapel”, the “Noord Nederlands Orkest” and the “Amsterdam Windorchestra.”
Thijs Oud spends most of his time arranging and composing pieces for wind band.
