It was Spanish folk music that inspired Pavel Stanék to arrange "Kastagnetten" (Castanets) by Karel Tesar. Castanets are percussion instruments mainly known from Spanish dance music. The instrument consists of a pair of wooden concave shells joined on one edge by a string that is hooked over the thumb and the other fingers are bent over to support the two shells and click them together. So you can use this specifically sounding instrument to play very fast ryhthms. Pavel Stanék composed a paso doble to honor the castanets, and of course they also play the lead.
