Gene Raskin or Eugene Raskin, was supposably born 1910 and was an American musician and playwright and author of the lyrics of the English version of the Russian song "Those Were the Days". He also wrote three books on architecture and was adjunct professor at Columbia (1936–1976). He died in July 2004 at the age of 94 in Manhattan.
