This double edition contains the two Vario 3 compositions "Cat Walk" and "Sugar Stomp" by Luigi di Ghisallo
Cat Walk
“Cat Walk” might describe a cat walking. But it also has another meaning: the long platform on which modes show the newest fashion. They have a very special kind of walk, somehow similar to a cat and very elegant. The theme of this piece is repeated very often, but each time differently, just like the mannequins, who appear with many different dresses and styles. The style of music is swing and you should also swing your hips!
Sugar Stomp
A Stomp is a style of music that belongs to Jazz, like Boogie Woogie, Blues or Jive. It should be played rather fast and swing sweetly. The drummer on the tom toms introduces the piece, then the saxophones play together (unisono) syncopated melodies and soon the whole orchestra (tutti) joins in, with heavy accents in the brass section. In the middle part the drummer presents a break, a short and nice solo. Stomps were much affected by jazz orchestras, e.g. Count Basie or Duke Ellington.
