The title of Kees Vlak’s composition "Two Movements" already suggests a deliberate division in two which was musically enhanced by sharp contrasts.
The first movement, "Song of Happiness" is very melodious and may be interpreted in a wonderfully ”cantabile” way.
Abruptly and immediately following is the second movement "Temptation". This part creates an effective contrast and also contains fast and powerful passages in its "allegro agitato" section. The music finally leads to a "grandioso" and makes for an impressive conclusion of the piece.
The accordion orchestra version of this piece is combinable with the concert band version!
