“Trailermusik“ was commissioned for the CD “Panta Rhei”, recorded by the Concert Band of the German Armed Forces in Siegburg. The intention was to write music for a non-existent movie. This idea developed during our new association with the young composer Alexander Reuber (*1986). He did his military service as a trumpeter in the Concert Band of the German Armed Forces in Siegburg and thus has a personal relationship to the band. Alexander Reuber began composing music at 16 years of age. He is very interested in film scoring and a visit with the famous composer Hans Zimmer in Los Angeles encouraged him to intensify his writing. At the suggestion of Thomas Rundel, Alexander Reuber wrote his “Trailermusik” as a short concert piece in the cinematic style. A trailer compactly represents a movie with a few selected scenes to compel an audience to see the full film. Trailers for blockbuster movies are often produced as intensively as the actual features. The music for a movie trailer has to complement the short scenes and perfectly convey different situations and emotions. Alexander Reuber created an exciting and versatile composition that musically portrays various atmospheres. The audience has limitless possibilities to create its own scenery for this remarkable scoring.
