Info
Otmar Mácha (* 1922), a leading contemporary Czech composer has written symphonic works, stage music (ballets and operas) and vocal pieces. He has also composed music for children, for broadcasting and television and even ventured into pop music. In 1976, he finished the music to libretto after Alois Jirásek’s play „Cradle“. Macha’s musical comedy „Cradle for Sinful Maidens“ was first performed on May 8th, 1982 in Teplice. The scherzo overture with a distinct motive of horn fanfares evokes, in a humorous way, an old-fashioned atmosphere.
