Macbeth is an opera in four acts by Giuseppe Verdi. Francesco Maria Piave and Andrea Maffei wrote the libretto based on William Shakespeare's drama "Macbeth". The premiere of the opera took place in the Teatro della Pergola in Florence on March 14, 1847. A revised version was premiered in the Théâtre Lyrique in Paris on April 21, 1865.
This 3 three-part scene was added to Verdi's special Paris debut for needed lightness and vitality. Eiji Suzuki's arrangement "Ballet Music" is bold, full-voiced and powerful, while still attentive to the composer's design. A technical challenge which works well for an advanced symphonic band with fearless clarinets.
