For many people, music during Advent and Christmas is an expression of joy and celebration. Wind music in particular is very popular. In addition to playing in a large orchestra, playing chamber music - for example as part of a church concert - is of particular importance. The instrumentation of the traditional brass quintet is undoubtedly one of the most popular forms of instrumentation. The Czech composer Pavel Stanék wrote the present “5 Adventslieder” (5 Advent Songs) for precisely this instrumentation. Based on " Macht hoch die Tür", " Maria durch ein´ Dornwald ging ", " O Heiland, reiß die Himmel auf ", "Quem pastores laudavere" and " Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern ", he created a suite that goes far beyond the pure editing of the songs. The high musical competence and creativity of the author makes each of the “5 Adventslieder” (5 Advent Songs) a masterful composition, which transfers a maximum of musical responsibility to each individual musician.
